About Starborn Press

Educating humanity for a brighter future.

We start where it matters most — at home, with parents. Every book we publish has to teach something concrete that families can use the same week they read it.

Where we come from

A small press, with a long line of thinking behind it.

Starborn Press grew out of Starborn Thrive, our sister project for parents and parent education — itself part of a larger group of Starborn companies thinking about how people learn, grow, and build calmer lives at every age.

Our founding author, Dr. Richard M. Kubina Jr., has spent more than three decades studying behavior. After years of watching families wrestle with problems that have real, research-backed answers, he wanted to put what he knew into the hands of the people who could use it most: tired, thoughtful parents at 10pm.

We’re publishing into a noisy moment. Influencer feeds, gentle-parenting clichés, viral takes — a lot of confident advice with very little science underneath. Our small contribution is books that try to do the opposite: quiet, careful, evidence-based, and honest about what we don’t yet know.

What guides us

Three things we won’t compromise on.

  1. Evidence, before everything.

Every claim in a Starborn Press book has to trace back to research that a working scientist would defend. No vibes or anecdotes pretending to be data. No “trust me, I’m a parent.”

  2. Concrete, before clever.

A reader should be able to put a Starborn book down at 10:32pm and try something different at 7:14 the next morning. If a chapter doesn’t teach a skill, change a script, or shift a habit, we send it back.

  3. Small, on purpose.

We publish a short list and read every manuscript twice. We’d rather wait an extra season than ship a book that doesn’t earn its place on a shelf.
